About the manufacturer:
Merci Chef is a brand manufactured by the Eurial Corporation, founded in 1895 in the Loire Valley. The corporation has evolved constantly and is today the largest goat cheese manufacturer in all of Europe. A 2013 survey found that 44% of French homes consume Eurial goat cheeses. The corporation has factories in many regions, usually where goat milk production is highly developed.
About the product:
Buche is the French word for small wooden roller. The cheese is almost fresh, having undergone short aging. Its flavor is delicate with a slight odor of goat milk. It comes in a plastic package preserving it and extending its shelf life. There are two versions of this cheese: a classic natural and garlic and herbs variation.
When served:
This cheese is perfect for serving on a cheese tray, in sandwiches and on toast. The famous dish with this cheese is Chevre Chaud – hot goat cheese. It’s a dish made of a lettuce salad, overlaid with a slice of toasted bread with a slice of Buche that has been warmed in a grill, topped with classic vinaigrette dressing. Young red wine would be an excellent accompaniment for this dish.
