About the cheese
The word Gouda is pronounced by the Dutch as Howda (how da). It is named after the city of Gouda in the West of the Netherlands. This is one of the best-selling and most common cheeses in the entire world.
Only cheese made from clean cow’s milk without any additives, with a fat content of 50% (from dry matter) may be called Gouda. The rest, from goat’s milk for example, will be called Dutch cheeses.
On the table
The young Gouda is excellent in sandwiches and toasts. Suitable for all pastries and quiches and thickening and improving soups. It can be combined with other types of cheeses in sauces for pasta pastries, creamed potato, vegetable omelette.
