About the manufacturer:
We import our cheddars from the Delway factory in Lancashire in northwestern England, near Manchester. The factory has been making British cheeses for three generations. The cheeses are made from the milk of cows that graze naturally in farms near the factory. This ensures consistency in the quality of raw materials.
About the product:
The source of cheddar cheese is the village of Cheddar in southwestern England. This is the cheese most identified with the British aisles and is estimated to be the most consumed cheese in the entire world!
It is manufactured all over the world in different versions and at different levels of aging, mostly 3 or 6 months, but sometimes 12 months or more. It is, however, piquant also when it’s young. Cheddar’s qualities and special taste have contributed to its popularity. The more common orange cheddar was created by adding beta-carotene, the colorant ingredient in carrots, and this adds to the cheese’s piquant taste. It comes in three varieties: white cheddar, orange cheddar and triple cheddar.
When served:
Cheddar has many uses in the home and professional kitchen, almost as many as Italian Parmigiano. It can enrich and thicken soups, be grated over fresh or cooked salads and all pasta dishes. It is excellent in pastries and quiches based on cheese and obviously, in sandwiches and toasts.
