It is mildly salty and has a typical nutty flavor. Young gruyere has slight sweetness and as it ages it acquires deeper, more pungent flavors. Gruyere is known for having the best qualities for baking and cooking. Its delicate taste leaves its mark on a cooked dish but does not dominate it.<\/p>\n
